Mise-En-Scene Analysis: Stanger Things

I decided to do a Mise-En-Scene analysis on the show Stanger Things on Episode 1: “The Vanishing of Will By ers.” This was primarily due to the straightforward depiction of the famous 1980s era and the use of costumes, sets, lighting, and blocking in which these elements intertwine to create a phenom enal show. Moreover, this show was chosen because it defies a great sense of mystery and brings a nostalgic element. In the beginning , the show presents the timeline of the 1980 era by showing the actual date and place of November 6, 1983, Hawkins, Indiana . Upon the first scene, the lights are flickering at low-key which alludes that something bad is about to happen.
